LED Tipping Point?

XLamp from Cree It might be a little soon, since the U.S. Department of Energy’s long term research goal calls for white-light LEDs producing 160 lumens per watt by 2025, but Cree announced a single- die, cool-white LED with an efficacy of 72 lumens per watt and output equivalent of a 75-watt incandescent. Suddenly, all LED lighting doesn’t seem that far off. The warm white version is marginally less efficient at 52 lumens per watt. Link
